Membership

The Mid-Mon Valley Model Railroad Club is open for people who may wish to join as new members. This page will describe the process for becoming a member and what being a member is all about.

All of us at the August 2023 Cedar Creek Park annual day-long Fun Fest, sponsored by Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation, Rostraver Township, PA

Our club currently has one class of membership, Regular Member. Any adult with an interest in model railroading is welcome to join our club as follows:

Membership criteria:

  • Only adults may be members of the club.
  • We meet each Friday (unless posted otherwise on our calendar pages) at 7:30PM at the club location: 159 Main St., New Eagle, PA 15067. You may park either on the street or the small lot behind the building. Our entrance is the front door on Main Street with our MMV logo sign above it.
  • All members of the MMV Model RR Club must be current members of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). The NMRA web pages that describe its organization and membership can be found at www.nmra.org. If you decide to join our organization, you will have to become an NMRA member in good standing first.
  • A filled in paper copy of the Mid-Mon Valley Model Railroad Club application must be submitted to the secretary/treasurer of the Mid-Mon Valley Model RR Club at one of our Friday meetings. To obtain a membership application, click here to print it out.
  • As stated on the application form, an application fee of $20 cash or check must be submitted with the application along with dues of $10 for each month. Monthly dues are due prior to the business meeting of the month (usually on the second Friday of each month, unless otherwise posted on the calendar pages). Monthly dues may be also be paid in advance.

We encourage prospective members to visit our club at any meeting to meet our members, ask questions and to view our layout and facilities. Unless posted otherwise on our website calendar pages, we meet every Friday night at 7:30PM (be patient, if we are a few minutes late on some nights). We stick around for at least an hour, usually longer.

We have business meetings on the second Friday of each month. For these meetings, we gather in the lower portion of the building (through different front and back entrances) to use the borough meeting room to conduct our business. Business meetings are usually not the best time to visit the layout because we will not be opening the upstairs model railroad facilities on those nights for you to see. However, if you wish to attend a business meeting, you are welcome.

If you have any reason to contact us outside of the meeting times, please refer to our contact page on this website.
